Does Print Marketing Make Sense Anymore?

With the boom of internet marketing over the last decade, it’s a common question that begs an answer – does it make sense to market in print anymore?

To most, it’s no surprise that many business owners have shifted their strategies towards Internet marketing instead of print – especially the small to mid-size businesses. Internet marketing could mean anything from SEO, to PPC, to social media, online press marketing, and so forth – mediums that, on average, cost much less than print.

So, does it make sense to toss print out of your mix? Well, before you jump the gun and cancel your next full year of print placements, take a good hard look at your ROI, budget, and target audience.

Most know that print is all about branding.  It takes repetition and frequency to drive your message – and that can get expensive.  Businesses accustomed to print schedules know all too well that page placements can cost upwards of thousands to tens of thousands or more for a single placement, depending on the medium.

So, why would anyone want to spend this kind of money when we have the Internet at our disposal?  Because people still like to read newspapers and magazines.  And, many would agree that laptops fall short of creating the same experience. › Continue reading
